With an altitude of 5,500 meters and made up of 22kms of ski runs, the White Ring is the world's longest ski round trip. This circuit features five different downhill runs, five ski-lifts, wonderful piste ascents, and an exciting cross-country ski course. The White Ring also hosts the annual “White Ring Race” the world's longest ski race that is open to professionals and amateurs from around the world. Just another great reason to visit Lech.

The snow park is a favorite destination of snowboarders and freestylers from all over the world. Lech snow park opens each year in December and features 17 obstacle courses with options for all levels of skill. The park plays host every March to “Close to Heaven” a freestyle competition that is a mainstay in the world of snowboarding and freestyle.

There is a good selection of high-quality ski schools in Lech that offer ski instruction by highly skilled ski-sport guides. The schools feature many instructional programs for all of the major winter sports. Most of the schools will allow you to book your instruction time several weeks or months before your holiday visit.

Freeride skiing is the amazing experience of skiing-off piste and onto the powdery slopes away from the regular secured areas. Lech am Arlberg is considered by many a paradise for freeride skiing. In a recent popular survey, the Arlberg was named the best location in the world for freeriding. This style takes good physical fitness with the proper time to master the style. Once you learn to freeride, many beautiful and exciting alpine adventures await you.

Lech Zurs is the only location in Austria that offers the rare experience of heli-skiing. The adventure consists of reaching an off-piste trail via helicopter, with two different amazing peak locations to choose from, including Mehlsack summit and Schneetali-Orgelscharte. Heli-ski packages can easily be booked through any of the local ski schools within Lech and can accommodate up to four people in one package.
